Hi all,
Following my prvious post re checking bees in this weather.
Thanks for all the replies.
Having spoken to someone more experienced, and even after reading about it (but not taking it all in!) I'm going to transfer a frame with eggs from the parent hive to the poss queenless AS hive.
It seems obvious now but if they are queenless then they should rear a new one, if not then the queen is shuffling about somewhere and they won't bother.
Can anyone see/foresee any probs with
cheers TT

Yes, a test frame. Put one in a queen-less? box on Friday and this morning there are two queen cells.

And once you find that you already have a queen in your hive, it can take up to a month for a queen to mate and lay eggs.
