Afternoon all…

What do you experienced peeps think to this as a time-line? Seems like quite a handy tool if the days/dates/periods etc are correct.

Also, I am tempted to check my Q- hive that had two nearly sealed QCs touching each other on Saturday.

However, what would you be looking for and what action might you take?

In an ideal world I find one open cell, one closed, see the virgin on another frame, and nuc the yet to emerge 2nd cell frame!

But THAT is unlikely!

I'm still nervous of losing a cast… and kind of want to know what's going on.

If they got capped earliest Sunday, then maybe it's safe to have a peak?

Annoyed I left 2 QCs.

The calender is useful and have used it for three years now although I tend to transfer the cells one day later.

IT depends, how hives develop in spring. I would graft now, but day temps are 8-11C

Looked in today VERY carefully.

2 sealed queen cells right next to each other, touching.

Not many bees flying/foragers, but hive reasonably well populated... doesn't look empty.

Just leave and fingers crossed and hope the first queen out decides to kill not cast?

(Or is allowed to kill)

Or check again and hope to catch one in and one out! Ha. Ridiculous.

This hive was an AS and so emergency queens. I hope to graft from better queens soon!

Day temps here around 18oC
