hi

i have to hives that were both Q- with QC the QC were open when last inspected about week n half ago.

the question i have is been watching the hives today and seen pollen going into both and they were surging out as soon as the sun came out. does this mean the new queens are laying.

i really wana look see wats going on but having looked on here dont want to yet just incase she is still mating.

I have a parent hive from a swarm and one from an AS. Virgins emerged 7th May. Loads of pollen going in for 2 weeks when the bees can get out but no evidence of laying. I asked a question about pollen and laying some time ago.
Polyhive kindly replied saying a queenless hive can fill a brood with pollen.

If you had open queen cells a week and a half ago and have eggs from a mated queen now, your bees have defied science.

Well spotted MB!

Patience is a virtue. I'd wait at least another 2 weeks before having a peeek.
