I dont think it would work in your veil. They need to be close to the object. Just lay it above where you want to see.

If there are any opticians on here. Would a double D seg like pilots wear be any good or would you still focus on the veil?

I'd be very cautious about having a Fresnel lens outside in sunlight especially when things are so dry. This was a few months ago when the sun wasn't as strong.
