Me again,
I am getting to grips with most basics (tempting fate ha) but one thing I am struggling with is a brood box post artificial swarm.
When one splits the hive the brood is normally strong and mostly filling the box. Afterwards, especially one side, has been queenless for a few weeks and may have new combs.
Having been up in the supers they take to filling the decreasing broodnest space with stores. So when the queen may be mated and wish to start to lay, the space in the brood box has diminished.
Do we leave them to move the stores up when they need the space, or do people take frames out to accommodate?
Thanks again wise ones.
