Anyone know what tree this is ?

Looks like a Camelia.

Nah - chaenomeles flowering ended a month ago here. Camellia more likely but image not too distinct for accurate answer.

bang on, we have a couple of these and this is the first year I have seen them being worked.

Nice call. When I suggested Camelia, I was thinking it's a bit late for it to be in full flower, mostly gone over by now.

Looks like a species of Sorbus (Mountain Ash). Lots of varieties available with red, white, pink, orange and yellow berries (not all on the same tree of course).

The flowers reminded me of a species of hibiscus, but the leaves don't look right...


Could yours be a Chinese mountain ash, or something similar, Rickyd?

Yes looks like Rowan, do the flowers have a musky smell we have one here too.

They do smell musky. That image of yours looks identical to the plant, though the ones near me are smallish trees. Thanks.

Rowan arent huge trees, i think bees do go on them but usually there is something about providing more nectar so you might only get the odd ones on it.
