On another thread people have been talking of collecting swarms (already!) and some of them absconding.
Adding a frame of brood is known to help them stay put, but has the disadvantages of possible transfer of disease, and the lost opportunity to treat for varroa whilst broodless.
I was wondering if a few drops of ocimene would mimic brood pheromone and encourage them to stay put without the disadvantages of actual brood?
Any thoughts?
