afternoon... i have had my third look into my hive now (i live up in the Highlands) and had located the queen on the first look, after this the hive seemed slow and not too many bees at the entrance, i still had sugar feed. I have just had a look at them today and i cannot locate the old queen (she had a blue tag) but there seems to be another queen there, long dark abdomen, short wings and helpers interested in her.
could this be possible that the hive has created a new queen?? what should my next steps be as bee numbers are very high, about 100 on three frames. Thanks Sean

It iis possible to have two queens, for a while at least, but rare, it sounds as though your original queen has been superseded. The numbers of bees sounds really low. Do you have local help? Sounds like you might need someone to guide you for a while!
