we have a wild flower meadow about 50ft from front of our hives, yet watching the bees that go out foraging, I'd say 20% fly out to the field, the other 80% do a 180 degree turn and head back into the woodland, not sure what they collect from there, probably hazel/pussy willow etc, but it's a totally different taste to my bees kept in essex (the woods are in kent) here's another video of the hive I call my angry bees, they are protective of their hive, and although most would say to re queen it, as they are not near any houses and are amazing honey makers, I tend to leave them bee (see the pun there)
