Hi. I have a bees nest appear in my worrmery tank. They have built a Combe.
I need to move them to get access to the worms.
Is it possible to set up a hive and move them?

Yes but most of us here are in UK! :sorry:

Its most certainly possible and best to do it sooner rather than later. You will need tofind a local beekeeper who will be able to help you, especially needing to wear a bee suit. When collecting up the swarm you will need to transfer the comb theyve built and attach it somehow to the frames in the hive, rubber bands works well. This will encourage them to stay put in their new home, but most importantly you will need to ensure when gathering the bees up that you have the queen as they wont go anywhere without her. There are lots of videos on you tube, collecting swarms, and i would suggest you watch alot of them plus read up a bit about beekeeping, theres more to it than most people think but a wonderful hobby. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Sorry, I may have missed your point,
Do you want to start keeping bees?
Or do you just want access to the wormery??

I seem to remember that Iberian bees have extra long stings, (something to consider)?

Thanks for quick reply. Yes would like to keep the bees. I can buy a hive and hat. All our bee books were burnt in the big fires. Will see if I can find some YouTube clips of moving the comb. As for getting help that will not be so easy. Don't like the sound of extra long stings.
