Today removed nadired super. Colony has brood box of four frames brood, four frames stores and the rest empty drawn comb.
Is it too early to put the removed super above bb and a qx in your view? Temps today are warm, but nights will be down to 2C over the next weeked.
Having done so I’m concerned I may have made an error....

The bees will survive I doubt there be any damage. It’s still very possible to get awful weather in April they’ll simply up the heating if needed and they have stores, there still only heating the volume they had before. Personally I’d have left them in the single though, until it looked like they needed it. Maybe have slotted 1 empty frame up against brood area as well. Ian

I’d have left them in a single box.
I think you’re probably right Dani. Looks like a quick job for tomorrow. No drones so the reduction in space hopefully won’t click the swarming switch just yet.
I put it on as the plums and hedgerows are just coming into bloom and didn’t want the queen to be short of laying room.

Did the same with all the nadired colonies today. One in a single brood has wild comb up into the fondant bag on top, they are getting a super tomorrow ;)

Hi Swarm,
Did you just remove them or put them on top as a super?
