Mating flight??

Hello,

Not sure who has had the pleasure to witness a mating flight however I wonder if this is what I saw today?

It was raining all day, when it stopped the bees were in flight around the front of the hive and darting around in all different directions above the hive and near by, they don't normally fly in this way?

Can anyone offer an opinion??
