I think it is I was told about this sum time ago its not so much to detect bombs but as a forensics, has explosives being in this room over the past months ect

Much cheaper and more convenient than training spaniels for the same purpose.

Yep its totally true, Insentinel a ltd company based at Rothampstead have secured funding to develop sniffer bees to detect explosives among other things.
They are now well advanced in the machines and procedures needed to make this a commercial operation having secured funding from the MOD and the US defence department among others to develop this.
Very interesting talk from them last night, infact one of the most interesting bee evenings I have attended.
