So whats your advice CVB? Leave the board in or out?

I'm not wishing to be obtuse but I no longer give advice on this forum. I just ask people to figure it out for themselves, like I did. I leave my monitoring boards in over winter but clean them regularly. You must do what you think is best for your bees.

There are many people who think it's ok to leave bees in a thin-walled squat box with no insulation over winter because that's what they were taught/always done. Their bees, their decision! The bees might survive but will they thrive? If you were a bee, and there are dangers in being anthropomorphic, would you prefer a warmish largely weather-tight enclosure where you can move about to your stores or a cold, draughty hive where you have to stay in in a tight cluster to survive and might get separated from your stores?
