If you're going to spill glucose en masse please do it in the autumn!! However it is reported on our local BBC news tonight that the authorities are having a hell of a job clearing this up - several hundred litres of the stuff. I do wonder what the consequences of this will be for the bees as it is unlikely that this will all be diluted and dissipated in the near future. It looked a real gloop of stuff on the TV
 
Can you imagine the plague levels of bees and wasps on site if that had happened in the summer? Blimey O'reaily!
Yep. And it still wouldn't touch the numbers I've seen at unprotected sugar refineries. 2 acre hard standing of spilled sugar. Literally hundreds of wasps per cubic metre of air. Face masks obligatory to avoid inhaling wasps and yellow vis ppe prohibited for fear of fatality risk.
