Noted ice on the outside top of polly hives this morning, the metal roofs on others however were wet they are insulated but possibly not enough

Mark don’t overly worry, use modern materials insulate and give the bees every advantage you can. However bees survive perfectly well in wooden hives.!!

If you see ice on the outside of a hive full of warm bees, your walls and roof are enviable insulators 8)

If you see ice outside, it is only a sign that night has been cold.
