Hi Guys :)

My largest hive which currently has a super on and is packed full of bees has been raising a new queen,. when I closed It Up 3 weeks ago I think the Queen would have just hatched I checked on it today and there is no sign of any capped brood unfortunately I'm rubbish at spotting eggs, however the nuc i made up at the same time seems to have a functioning mated queen... On checking the Hive further I noticed a new queen cell that had emerged.

My thinking is that the new queen didn't work out so they have made a new one so I'm thinking I'm going to close it up and leave it for another week? my only worry is that this is my biggest hive with the most amount of bees and obviously I don't want it to suffer from they're not being a queen and I loose my manpower (correction women!) for the rest of the season. From the behaviour I think there may be a queen in there but she hasn't been mated.

Can I have some of these Bees.to put in with the nuke I'm about to transfer to a main hive?

Thanks
Clem

Answered in your other question.
Leave well alone.
Have another look for brood in a week. Polished cells are a sure sign they are preparing.
After six weeks post emergence if still nothing try a test frame

Definitely polished cells, and good activity coming in and out im hopeful she is just a week or so behind its not behaving hopeless like my third hive

Thank you
