"Lance - I was going to go to the Dragons but was dismayed to see that they have hired Cruella DeVille"

scary isn't she/he/it? it's a man isn't it?

"and I think puppies are cute."

spending too much time gazing over the bar at the Brownlow methinks!!!!

"could you please advise the source of the plastic parts?"

I understand that Ann Summers do a popular line in plastic "parts" but as always various specialist mail order suppliers will probably be your best bet for what you need.

Oh I see, must have been mistaken then, because I got stopped outside their shop recently by a scantily clad sales assistant who tried to sell me a uniquely shaped "swarm control device!

It apparently buzzes at a frequency that the bees find attractive, and they simply go into washboarding mode, until the batteries run out!

She tried to demonstrate this but on resting the said device on the window sill it took off, dancing down the street, which scuppered the deal for her, because I couldn't see how it would remain in one place in the hive without wrecking the frames.

News reports say it was last seen in a dark corner of an local alleyway with a prime swarm attached :laughing-smiley-014

@Mons A, Very satisfying to make something and have it work OK. Surely though you should have chosen the best edge to show to the camera, now the wavy one . . .

@Sugarbush, The Brits that don't have enough bees to require blowing out, claim to be using the carbon friendly alternative . . . Tight wads that know all about the rising cost of fuel, servicing and the blower too . . . ha ha.

@Alabamee, I'm all for a personal presentation by a scantily clad sales assistant, sign me up please. Product not important or required.

Hombre, if Mons Ab has only just recently broken out his 1972 christmas toolkit, that probably IS the best edge... ;)

Of course it is! Any fool can recognise that the specially crafted sleek lines with aerodynamic contours are far superior to any old straight line - don't forget they said that David Icke was mad!

@ Mons, are you trying to develop the stealth hive, undetectable to the bee inspectors?

Top Secret--Eyes only project, I get it ...
I know "if I tell you, I will have to kill you" sort of thing.
mums the word..

I`m having my hives developed at area 51, the anti grav hive, no more worrying about swarms as the hive goes were they go.

I`ll let you now how I get on. ;)

MA and the rest of you have all missed the real business opportunity here. As usual we cottage industries naturally think small. What you really need to do is develop your clearer board on a much larger scale so it can be placed in a city centre with prison vans at the exits. The additional use of smoking and oxalic acid is optional but increases the effectiveness.:biggrinjester:

Cleaner boards are not real popular here and I have actually never used one. Do they actually work well?

American's like instant gratification. I prefer a fume board, but others like to go more aggressive.

MMMMMM
Don't you end up with a pile of blasted and damaged bees?
In the military that would be referred to as "Blue on Blue".

Objective secured but with losses, :patriot::patriot: many similar experiences in the Gulf!

blasted and damaged bees? certainly the ones that were hitting the smoker. might not be so bad if the bees were being blown in to an empty space

If you blow them into the air/hedge/grass then it can be considered flight training.

I also remember the golf-ball like finish on the wings of the Su 27 (Flanker) or Mig 29 (Fulcrum) and their cool looking cobra manoeuvre. No T*rd polishing needed there and must have been a great selling point.

I'm just off to the workshop to straighten up the latest in my short(?) range of squint-built (TM) products.

A wind-up clearer board? Makes a lot of sense, I reckon. No more carrying heavy batteries to out apiaries or mucking about with mains electricity in the rain. Just have to make sure the bees can't get to the clockwork and propolise the spring.

I'll have the motor out of the first toy the kids break on Christmas Day and see if I can't put a prototype together next week.

Inspired by Poly's plan for a clearer I extracted the "My First Toolkit" from its 1972 christmas wrapping and well stocked up with sticking plasters and gin took a deep plunge into the world of DIY
