After installing my nucleus I placed a frame feeder in my brood box with 1:1 syrup. The feeding frame is slightly wider than my Hoffman frames that has meant I can't fit my last frame and has left a gap. Ive left it as it is as didn't want to leave them with nothing but wonder if I ought to get fondant instead to ensure correct bee space?

just ensure the feeder is pushed firmly against the rest of the frames to ensure they are all spaced correctly - the feeder will be seen by the bees as the 'outside' of the hive so any space between the feeder and hive wall won't be an issue.
How many frames do you have in your brood box usually?

Thanks for info, so I have 11 frames but only 10 will fit with the feeder - I knew I was being dim. So now I need to go back and shift everything the other way as Ive left the space at the other end and can just imagine they are building wax to fill the space......

If you've just put the nuc into a full size box probably best not to fill the whole box in one go.

Give them a couple of frames of foundation to be getting on with, then a dummy board.

Add more foundation as they use the existing frames. By the time you get to the last one probably won't need the feeder.
