I'm in the fortunate position that my day job means I carry a decent phase contrast microscope when I travel to sites around the country. So it makes sense for me to use it for something more interesting!

Today I managed to test one of my hives for nosema (clear to my untrained eye) and prepare slides of Crocus and snowdrop. I also attempted dead nettle but could only find a grand total of 2 pollen grains on that one :icon_204-2:

Really pleased with this other aspect of beekeeping and I'm looking forward to finding more pollen samples (must learn to identify more wild flowers)

How are the pollen slides going? Any more success?

Ray
