Did my first this afternnon, shakeing like a leaf I may have chopped off 1 of HM legs when putting her in a matchbox, hopefully it was 1 of the workers but I an not to sure,
Is it a disaster?

Why were you putting the queen in a matchbox rather than just transferring the frame she was on?

If she is damaged, she will probably be superceded.

Oh well! Fingers crossed time.

I had an 'Inspector' pop the queen in a cage and go home with her.
Another dropped her on the floor and stepped on her.

I tried clipping the wings for a while but it produced angry swarms that could not get far away!!!

So now you get angry swarms that can get away.

xgeordie, she was on a super frame that I put in the brood so drone comb would be drawn on the bottom section for culling and i didnt think it was a good idea to put this in the AS colony, probally wrong but there goes.
