I now have a Snelgrove Board, and one spare Brood Box. Could anyone recommend a simple method for doing a vertical AS using the snelgrove board? I have read several different articles, and there seem to be lots of different views. I am after an easy to follow set of instructions that a beginner can follow. Many thanks

.
SB is just a board between two hives which separate the colonies. It needs bee space under frames.

Then you lift old frames upstairs and force the AS Draw Foundations. Bees fly into original Entrance.

Upper entrance is To opposite direction.

Brood of foundation with queen, excluder, supers, Snelgrove board, original brood, crown board, roof.
I open the upper entrance at 90 degrees and leave it like that. Best thing about the method is space and kit saving.

Thanks Swarm!

What do you recommend doing with the swarm cells in the original brood? leave the largest and destroy others?

Also, I have 3 exits on the board. Do you recommend opening one of the sides first, then a different one a few days later?

Ta !

Yes. Open top door on one side. 5 days later close that door and open bottom door on same side. This causes the flyers to return to bottom box. Open top door on other side. How many changes you do depends on strength of colony and how many bees you want to bleed into bottom. Just do all the manipulations well before Virgin goes on mating flight
As to the queen cells. You could use them in nucs, if you have enough bees. If you want. Choose the plumpest unsealed cell. Mark frame with drawing pin.
