Hi,

I inspected one of my hives this morning and was pleased to see that the nuc I installed 2 weeks ago has already drawn out 4 frames of foundation. I’m slightly nervous that the brood pattern contains a lot of drone cells though and wondered if anyone has any comment on the attached photos? Does it look like a drone laying queen?

It was an overwintered nuc with a 2019 queen.

Thanks in advance!

I did manage to enlarge, but a bit blurry.
Like JBM I can only see capped drone brood too.
2019 queen has run out of sperm

As I feared. Many thanks all. I will re-queen ASAP.

Success

Just to update you: I requeened two days after receiving your advice. I am pleased to say that when I inspected today I saw the attached brood pattern and am delighted with how much more healthy it is.

Many thanks indeed to everyone for your help.
