My hubby has broken his big toe so is a bit incapacitated. I suggested he could paint my poly hive bits while I went shopping. It’s just masonry paint. Anyway not wanting to issue too many instructions as he’s feeling a bit sensitive at the moment, I’ve come home and he’s painted the insides as well. Not much I can do about it now but will this be a problem do you think?

No, not at all. I painted the insides when I first started, not knowing it’s unnecessary.

I always paint the insides of Nucs I make from Celotex. Bees overwinter in them and thrive.

All my poly hives are painted on the inside with masonry paint and have been for several years. Let it dry out very well in full sun, put some vaseline on the edges where they meet. In my view they are better sealed/painted than left raw!
