I really didn't think so... but my dad, who is a 'retired' beekeeper suggested my recent swarm was due to me taking a few frames of honey- they have 2 supers of honey and brood and a half
It was a prime swarm- but loads of bees left behind-
My 'post-mortem' was that the hive was too crowded, i didn't inspect them early enough in the week (because of the bad weather) and would have done an artificial swarm- but stupidly left them too long for main swarming season.
Always ready to learn but haven't read about removing honey inducing a swarm??? Has anyone else??

If you take off the supers the reduction in space that they enjoyed before can leave the cramped and put the idea of swarming into their little minds.

Taking a couple of frames off shouldn't, as far as I'm aware, have any influence on a colony's desire to swarm.
