Well it has happened again and after that tell tail yellow dot between the eye's I decided to go on hunt and sure enough I found a hidden field in a dip no more than 500yrds away.. :( .. all that cherry/blackthorn nectar they have been piling in will be ruined and to top it of i did not plan on doing two extractions .. i was going to wait until the last flow had finished and do them all at the same time.
It has sure flung a spanner in the works and altered my plan's but i will have to get on with it and mess about doing soft set.

I have extracted OSR honey on a very small scale a few years ago so i did not need to ask this question, however these bees are a lot more productive than the last lot .

Anyway when i extract the frames do i need to wash them out with warm water before i give them back to the bees so i do not risk contaminating the second flow with OSR granulated honey.. or if the bees pass it on to each other does it stop it granulating the second time around.
Thank's
Steve.

Simple answer no. They seem to clean and use any residue in the cells...or maybe not...but next batch of honey will have very different properties.
If those bee behave according to plan you will need to do a few extractions during the season...or need a fork lift truck to get all those supers off.

Thank you ;) regarding a fork lift truck I have two arm's capable of a little manual lifting.. lol .

Regarding the bees these are a eye opener .. one extreme to the other so to speak and the Romanian Queen is on par with the Danish F1, if it was not for this sneaky rape field the full season would have been perfect.
