Clening capping trays

I have bought a second hand electrical decapping tray which works brilliantly but can someone tell me how I clean off all the sticky smears of wax etc. left behind when I have finished.

But best not to let the washings go down the sink though, - a beeswax blockage is not recommended. Wash it out into a bowl/bucket so that when it all cools down you can strain any wax out.

Propolis?

Hot water will melt the wax but I wonder whether much of the smears are traces of propolis. If so you could try baby wipes and a fair amount of rubbing

I've heard nail polish remover is brilliant at removing propolis.

It's so long since I've used a heated tray I'd forgotten that one. The paper then makes great firelighters, too...

Brio pads work well for wax and propolis, the cheap own brand ones work (just have less soap).
