hi , i have been pondering on how to change the hive, have searched the forum and read few post. but this is one of those odd one out.

the hive i have is small in size and needs to be changed as its rotten and may also have moth larva in the frames etc.

the frames are small in size. want to change into langstroth one. which has bigger frames. so i can not put the old frames as they are. unless i make some sort of extensions. if the old frames have moth larvae that will also go into the new hive.

any thoughts?

Yep, but it may be too late for you to do it depending on the weather where you are. Just shake every single bee from one hive into the new one. Brush off the remaining ones. Make sure the new hive is positioned where the old one was before you start so flying bees return to their new home. Keep an eye out for the queen as you don't want to damage her

If your present frames will fit inside an empty Langstroth frame then you can wire the top bars of your frames to the Langstroth top bars. Alternatively wire your frames to the underside of the Langstroth top bar.

Set up your Langstroth hive with some of these combination frames and some Langstroth frames with foundation. You may need to feed to get the Langs drawn out and then work your old frames to the side so that when devoid of brood they can be removed and replaced.

thanks enrico sounds good, will consider chucking out the bees. the weather here is now monsoon hot and steaming around end sep it gets little cooler nov march the temp can be around 10-20 c.

Barbarian; will go for wiring the frames like you advised. thanks
