I've noticed in quite a few threads that some people are straining at the leash and talking about building-up colonies and making splits etc. Hey guys - it's only the middle of February !

I've just heard that there's an advance snow warning for eastern areas across to the midlands for Thursday and Friday. I don't suppose it'll be anything more than some snow flurries, but it'll be bl##dy cold for at least a few days, maybe a week or more, so there'll be no flying.

Enjoy any mild days while you can ...

Yes I don't know whether its a result of our 24/7 society but beekeeping used to start in Marchish and finish early October save for the odd heft and OA on Boxing day.

Now when I read posts some beeks are opening Hives every month of the year.
STOP IT. You not only risk putting the bees back but it some cases killing them. Beekeeping is not a good hobby for those with Autism!
