Does anyone have any idea what this is? I see it on bees on the ground in front of my weaker hive (the one that's being robbed). I don't know if it's sugar from the feeders/cells when they're robbing, or some kind of hideous fungal disease. Either way they can't fly, but that could just be because they're been beaten up by the guards.

The robbing makes it difficult for me to go in, as I've been told that lets the strangers in.

BTW, the robbing is slowing down, thanks for the help.

Are they bees from another owners colony that has scattered icing sugar everywhere and on the landing strip in this damp weather. ?

Now who on earth would be daft enough to scatter icing sugar around the landing with robbing bees around? :D
