Demaree is good but the trick comes with the timing. Too early and you can hamstring your colony. Too late and it won't work because they're in swarming mode.
IMHO there's no perfect system else there wouldn't be 500 methods and swarms in chimneys! Expect to lose some occasionally and have a plan to retrieve them (and the equipment to hand) if your plan A,B, and C didn't work
