Have bees in my garden and seem to have set up a hive in a bird box, can these be transferred to a hive, know nothing about bees any help would be welcomed

They're almost definitely bumble bees - they don't produce any surplus honey, and they will be gone in a couple of months - they shouldn't be any bother to you as long as they're left alone

The are not the kind of Bees that beekeepers keep in hives, what you have is a nest of the french tree bumblebee

see attached info leaflet on the tree bumblebee

Not bumble bees

Have looked at bees for beginners and these are not the large bumble bee, but are bees for sure. Have added a picture not too clear but you may be able to advise me
Thanks Terry

Thanks from your attachment look like tree bees, I will them too it as not causing any harm, will they return next year?

Definitely Tree Bumble, Bombus hypnorum.

Loads of them around this year.

All, apart from the queens born this year, will die out over the coming months. The queens will then hibernate over winter and emerge next Spring to start new colonies. It is possible a queen may take up residence in the bird box next year but not a certainty.

If you want to deter them from returning, clean out the bird box when they've gone. Also re-site the bird box so that if they do return they are well away from anyone.
