- It's a fairly fluid thing.... more than 10, less than 15
I haven't posted for a while as with the dreaded Covid, I had my bee course cancelled in April and then my partner caught it (only mildly thankfully)....
BUT.... I've bitten the bullet and am taking a part hive from my local BKA with a laying queen.
So it's in at the deep end, although they are sorting out a mentor for me. My hive is being returned tomorrow night with the brood box probably 3/4 full so have a super ready to add.
Anything else I need to think of straight away apart from the weekly inspections and making sure there are no queen cells appearing?
I have a spare super and will get one more plus extra frames and foundation next week and I've told all the neighbours (who are enthusiastic at the moment!), got my bee suit and tools ready...
Anything I've missed as I jump in?! I am SO excited
