that's not ulceration - that's typical urticaria/hives (as per below - will spare the audience the rest of that photo series).

I am late on this thread. There is a lot of good advice on the thread. I would be interested to see what happens the next time. If you are not allergic it will be less severe. If you are allergic it will be more severe and get worse. I was found to be allergic as my reactions got worse. If your reactions get worse then you need to be tested and your KUA/L established. You can research this yourself or you can PM me and I will be pleased to help. ( have also posted on this blog about this subject).
Don't give up the bees I did not and a sting to me now is next to nothing in terms of reaction.
BTW a lot of beeks tend to laugh but a bad reaction if your LUA/L level is high is in fact deadly
