Hi all

My artificial swarm control did not work. Recap: Original site has HM removed and moved to NUC with stores, bees and brood. Took all QCs except one.

Checked 8 days later and removed others being built. Left until now which is pretty much 14 days on the nose from the split.

Just want to check on making sure I avoid a second cast: Do I go straight in and check for a queen in the hive now? Or do I repeat the single QC plan again to ensure the new VQ is solo?

Suggested actions?

(Little sad as I thought I had cracked it)

Well, if you left only one QC and removed all others built subsequently you won't get a cast. !4 days? then that means your new queen has been out a couple of days (That's dependent on the age of the QC when you split, of course).
If you have marked the frame you could just check she has emerged by having a look at the cell but If it was me I would have a look in a couple of weeks
