Well looks like I have managed to get three strong hives this far which to my mind isn't too bad for a guy that only got started this year.
Have to say it would not have been possible without the help of this group and in particular B+ who has been a great help and the saviour of my original hive.
The situation is currently that I have 3 hives with full brood boxes, Brood in all stages and good stores. On top of these I have a full super on each which I plan to leave on for the bees as winter food stock. I have no interest at this time in harvesting any Honey for ourselves.
I am now at the point of using Apiguard in the hives for control of varroa.
The question is where do I put it and do I keep the supers on top or place below...
I know it is meant to go above the brood frames but is this still the case if a full super is left in place above? Should it be placed above the super in this case?
I look forward to your views in due course..
Thank you
