I noticed yesterday a lot of activity at the hive enterance. As there is plenty of room in the hive, I dissmissed the thought of swarming. I thought that it was possibly new foragers getting to know where they are. Same today... At about the same time. I then noticed one bee fly from a nearby flower and 'attack' another bee mid air.... I now have the idea that the bees could be robbers from another hive somewhere and a battle is in progress.

Any ideas from you guys and girls?

Thanks,
Craig

Have you got your restricted entrance block in? This will make it easier for your colony to defend the hive if they are under attack.

As there is plenty of room in the hive,

Tell us how much. Seems like you are meaning it should be smaller (the hive)?

Are you trying to hint that it is a weak colony?

Are you feeding this colony?

Probably with the whole story it may be very obvious.

RAB.... Yes, small caste. I was feeding untill a week or so ago. They are bringing lots of pollen in, and I gather July is a good month, so took feed away.
I only have two hives, only this one occupied at the moment. I do not have a nuc, so they have one WBC brood box to collonise.
