    Growing concern of stings

    Have the same trouble as you, wear thicker clothes under suit, thick rubber bee gloves, sting goes thro leather, wellies. I find anti histamine tablets a waste of time, swelling goes down after a few days. :sorry::sorry::sorry:

    Bees on one side of hive

    No a wooden National. I think they will be alright quite a few out foraging, sun out, lucky they are in a small fenced in garden. Will keep an eye on them, thanks for replies. Hopefully just fondant in wrong place?????

    The fondant was more central, moved it over the side of bees. looking at the rest of the frames they were empty of stores. Hopefully with moving the fondant it will save it. Don't really want to move them fingers crossed. They are on last 3 frames. No debris to be seen.

    One of the hives very busy, have left alone, the other a lot quieter had a quick look under crown board, all the bees are at one end of hive. I don't want to disturb them, any idea, there is plenty of fondant left, they have hardly touched it?

    No the two hives were very busy that shrub was visited by honey bees all morning and later bumble bees. The tea pots are a feature in the garden. It was nice to c the bees foraging in february. Yes it was the sun a big yellow thing in the sky!!!

    The socks kept in the bee shed were black fluffy ones, I wont be wearing them again. My ankle is sore swollen and itchy still. The Celirizine has certainly effected me tho :ohthedrama:

    Yes the outer frames brood the central frames Drone. The bees are quiet busy. I haven't seen this before, normaly the drone brood is on the outside of the frames?

    The outer frames had sealed brood, the inner frames sealed drone brood. The Queen cell is not a typical supercedure one

    As above Bees very active over the last few weeks. To our horror there was about 15 big stripey Slugs ahhh, removed and killed. Plenty of bees, good natured, good build up of capped and uncapped stores. No Queen, two thirds of brood Drone, no eggs. One Queen cell in middle top of frame bees...

    What did you do in the Apiary today?

    Had a little peek, outside frames empty but inner ones lota bees honey capped brood. Lots of flying, pollen etc. Eke still on, bees devouring the rest of the winter fondent. Will leave for a few weeks for the supers to go on.

    Have just cleaned out hive which didnt make it( Virgin Queen ) never returned. Have noticed some blue mould on parts of the drawn comb. What is the best thing to do, leave it for bees to sort out in the spring ????? cut the offending pieces out ??????
