Baffled by reference to Kingspan. The Kingspan website talks about insulation for walls, roofs, floors etc of all sorts. What is the recognised Kingspan product for insulating hives, please? Thanks

Thank you Poly Hive - a most useful explanation of weighing. Do you use a spring balance & has it an adapted hook to raise the hive without upsetting the resident ladies?

MM I'm interested in your reference to the spring balance. Do you hook it under just one side of hive & read off as the hive starts to lift? Sounds like a good idea, but ... How do you know what percentage of the weight is wood & metal hive parts & wax etc?

Phew! Apiguard having been on a week I did my first count today. I was surprised that all the "Varroa" mites didn't float in meths as I had read so often. Now I'm hoping that the vast quantity of mites were not, in fact, varroa.! Hopefully good news.
