"The creatures transformed the polyethylene into an “un-bonded” substance called ethylene glycoll(sic)." That's all we need, frost-proof wax moths.

    Feeding/attracting wildlife near hive

I think the ice sheet retreated too quickly for the slower critters to cross the UK mainland and get here before the Irish Sea formed. Once moles etc. reached Kent or wherever they could take their time to spread within the big island. Up in the North here we're still seeing the sea level drop...

What if I haven't seen ANY honey bees this year?

Thanks Tony, I have a large stone pillar covered in ivy, which is in full bloom. Over the past two warm days it attracted Wasps, Hoverflies, Bluebottles even, Not a single honeybee. Actually, no bumbles either this morning, though it is a lot colder/greyer here.

What if I haven't seen ANY honey bees this year?

I don't have any hives (yet) but have spent the past year looking for suitable locations on my farm. I've also been on the look out for honey bees. I've seen loads of bumbles, loads of hoverflies, and wasps of course. But no honeybees. I've done a bit of research and am confident I could...

    Bees under trees?

I don't have any hives (yet) but have spent the past year looking for suitable locations on my farm. So, Not too obvious from the road: tick. Not too close to the house/neighbour: tick. Southerly view, sensible flight-path, sheltered from the South Westerlies, protected from cattle. I can...
