    Ouch !!!

I cut mine from large stock, plane, size, thicknesser, then table saw with a dado (could use a router table or spindle moulder for that part) then just lop off each side with the bandsaw. The tops are just cut to near size on the table saw then using the thickness planer bring them down to the...

    Ouch !!!

This is why i make my own frames! If i could make my own foundation i would!

    Queen Wasp.

Extremely early for hornets to be doing any killing. As with all wasps, same as bees they can only feed on sugary liquid type food. They only catch insects to feed thier young. There was a report of an active wasp nest being treated last week, but i find that hard to believe. The earliest i have...

    been making frames

I make all my frames now. I find them bloody expensive to buy, the foundation is enough without doubling the cost for frames too. Once you get setup its not too much trouble. I feel a video coming on :sifone: but then everyone will get all jelous of my tenoning jig! LOL

    my new toy

I need to get some new bandsaw blades soon, last batch i bought was probably 5 years ago, they are all rusty LOL There is a blade out there called a woodpecker, last time i looked! It looked pretty good, and you could get them an inch wide, which is ideal for splitting wide lengths down! Wish...

    Box jointing

I have a multitude of jigs here for various projects. Most homemade, one or two are bought. The tenoning jig that is used on the table saw is quite impressive!

question for all you wood nibblers

Ive never made a glass cover board, but i would bed it into something that has some give. Just make sure you get everything nice and straight and flat!

    Box jointing

You cannot buy new saws that will take a dado blade in europe now, they deliberatley make the arbors too short. You can still buy dado blades though, cmt make them, freud make them etc. Something i should have said in the video though, you put your hand into a moving dado blade, for the rest of...

    Bees jumping on hive tool

Is this just a large wasp?

Its definatley a common (vespa vulgaris) queen wasp. There will only be queens about at the moment anyway. You can tell that shes a common by the markings on her back ;O)
