    What did you do in the Apiary today?

    Checked 3 hives as got warm in the afternoon, received more stings thn usual today. 1st hive - eggs seen- had been waiting on a supercedure. 2nd hive - queen cell hatched on 29th - patience - superc again. 3rd hive - eggs seen - not full inspection done due to hood being unzipped!:p

    yes Dusty, I b* well did! The annoying thing, well apart from the stings, is I put the earrings on to go out!!!! All the while thinking did I necessarily need them on, as was only going out to inspect. But I was GOING OUT!;):rolleyes::party::rolleyes:;):)

    Now here I am starting my four year beekeeping and I have been stung 5 times, 5 times and one of those was not my fault! I always wear full suit and wellies ( even if I dont really need them) My hives are lovely and are usual well behaved unless they have good reason not to be! Inspecting...

    Its isnt that wise as although she is easier for us to see, you may not want other flying insects/birds to be able to see her as well when she in on her mating flights. You will notice easily when/if she does not come back though! Done now anyway.
