As anyone used soot on swarms to remove varroa?. I have collected several swarms from chimneys and I have noticed very little varroa on them . I think it may be the sulther in the soot that is removing the varroa. Try it and let me known how you get on.

if you can pick up a queen put in butler cage fill hole with candy then put insulation tape over end.the bee,s will not chew through tape so after four days remove butler cage and remove insulation tape it will take a day or two to get to queen and by then bee,s should be ok with queen. good...

i have an hive that as swarmed was treated with oxalic acid in the winter. but there was on average five mite drops a day.there is no broad left in the hive but there is a virgin queen would it be a good idea to treat hive with oxalic acid or lactic acid. regards paul
