With regard timings
I treat 4 times with 5 day intervals in between
This covers 15 days and therefore catches Drone brood that may have been capped just prior to the first treatment
I mean OA vape
Having carried out a walk away split. Leaving BIAS for them to raise QCs I’m wondering when to expect emerging queens
On day 6 there were 2 charged QCs. On day 9 there were 7 capped QCs
What day should I expect the first Queen to emerge ?
I know it’s 16 days from egg or maybe day 13 from graft...
Is there any scientific or observed data on the distances that bees fly for forage?

Or is just what’s been copied n pasted from old books
Seems the usual wildly varying guesstimates circulate
🤷🏻♂️
I’ve noticed from a lot of YouTube videos that upper entrances into honey supers are quite common in the good ole US&A, but haven’t seen any UK Beeks using or recommending their use.
is it just a cultural thing or due to climate
Cheers
What makes the Queen lay unfertilised eggs in worker cell. Do the workers enlarge the entrance of the cell of worker foundation after its drawn, and is it this that triggers her to lay a drone?
I saw somewhere online a picture of a DIY job. They’d cut out a 6”x4” panel of the mesh veil and superglued a clear thin transparent plastic panel to see through.
Get yourself some Mite Treatment kit. Eg Oxalic acid vaporiser
Ask when the nuc was treated
Good luck
I lived in Abercych & Cilgeran (Teifi Valley) & Tregaron in the good ole days
Just to quell my mind...,
Didn’t this forum used to display next to the users name in posts - how many hives they have and where they are ?
Or is that a different forum?
Or am I having a senior moment🤷🏻♂️
cheers
