    mentor needed

Hi sneaky zee why don't you try to find a local beekeeping association, they often help with mentors and you could get hands on experience either at the BKA apiary or perhaps a local beek (next year )

    Which Lime tree?

Tilia platyphyllos' " europaea, " maximowicziana, " euchlora, " tomentosa, " orbicularis, " petiolaris. a couple have a stupefying effect on bee's but are still supposed to be worthwhile. for the critics i have no experience of how good they are.

    Newbees and slightly worried

yes but none of those are the scenario that i am describing.

    Newbees and slightly worried

i dont know thats why i am asking, as it seems to me that if the bee's move up like others suggest then they will die.

    Newbees and slightly worried

surely if there is a block of fondant on QE or direct on brood frames, and the bee's move up into the super beeing used as an eke then they would be isolated from there food and starve. so the queen being left behind woudn't make any difference ??
