    be very careful using spray cans on poly, it can melt the polystyrene.... make sure you have a few layers of base coat first.....

    Walk across the field to check on the hives, both still on top of the stand after all this wind, poly NUC will get a post Xmas gift of some fondant, large hive still heavy but placing some fondant on as insurance,

    Any tips on giving fondant to a Paynes Poly NUC, there is obviously not any space above frames, considering placing in the feeder on the side of the NUC but it could end up messy in spring, I regret not buying a super if one exists to give some space for fondant...

    quick update on cider experiment..... its been a couple of weeks now... hardly any bubbles in the airlock, i can recommend the camden tablet route then adding your own yeast its has worked well so far, now looking at ways to flavour one barrel

    Your right the matchsticks do light the bbka magazine nicely when making a fire!! It seems to be the same articles year on year. Obviously there will be some seasonal relevant info but it would be nice to see some good articles.

    I am having problems with BeeCraft digital, Has anyone recently been able to access it on an IPad using IOS7 and news stand? As soon as it opens it crashes I have contacted BeeCraft but no answer, just wondering if anyone had a similar problem/solution

    finished my Double NUC box from a 14x12 and floor gives me 2 x 5 frame NUC's the extra with in the divider is to allow 1/2 sized supers or brood boxs to go on top... or 4 with the Frame feeders entrances diagonal on opposite sides of the box.
