Dear All...went back to have a better look with my expert neighbour. Confirmed no larvae but he found plenty of one and two day old eggs AND a beautiful queen 👑. Life is good again 😊. Marked her with a nice yellow dot. Thanks to you all for your help

Well it's been 3 weeks since this post so the good news is that over the last weekend I was able to extract 6 full frames of honey which were competely capped so thrilled about my first 20 pounds of honey! (The others were still above 22% water so left them for now) Bad news is that...

I measured the honey before extracting...uncapped measured between 22 and 24% so i left it in the hive. Capped was fine. Only extracted 6 frames from that super. Still got my first 20lbs of honey! 😊

Yes I have one of those but don't know how to calibrate it. I tested some honey I had at home and it tested 16.8% so I guess it's calibrated 🤷🏻

Hi everyone. Does each frame in a super need to be 100% capped before I harvest? I don't have drying equipment although it's very warm and dry weather where I am. I only have one hive and one of the two supers looks ready but out of 9 frames only 5 are 100% capped on both sides and the others...

😂. Thanks. Will leave them as they are. Just a side note. Hive is just outside my house so took a sneak peek when I got up during the night... At 3 this morning (temp 22 degrees) they were still in full beard mode and at 7 all back in the hive 🤷🏻

Ok so I've followed your suggestions and taken away the entrance reducer and added insulation above the cover board. Bearding is really lots today (see pic) but then again it's even hotter today. I saw a suggestion online to make a hole at the top of the hive to increase air circulation. Mine...
