    Early Queens

Agree with Ian and Dani, all Q’s I got from them were excellent 👌

    Equipment sales

Last time I bought poly equipment was 3-4 years ago. Shocking how much prices went up since.

Welcome to use my 9 frame electric radial one if you’re close by…

    Extractor

Paul, are you sure this is something you want to do going forward? Maybe borrow from a friend or use the local association for the next year or two?

Vaping from above / through the crownboard

    From the top.

Whether to vape with oxalic acid after completion of Apivar (Amitraz)?

Mid December is the time here, for me (SW Scotland).

Is the queen fed and supported right to the end.

FIan, can you explain laying workers then?

Is the queen fed and supported right to the end.

workers will stay in their hive without a queen. That’s all they know.

    Honey Creaming machines

Other than liquifying and making soft set, can be used as a settling tank, mixing sugar syrup and probably other uses… If you infuse your honey, can do the mixing perfectly.

    Honey Creaming machines

You buy the valve separately. Fits perfectly and I’m so happy I got it (even though it’s quite expensive)

    Honey Creaming machines

I have the Lyson 50L machine. Brilliant & effortless. Can do so many things with it.

    Oh, bother

I’m always suspicious when supers aren’t clearing properly.

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Nothing here, ivy wise, which is normal. Very little sun/flying in the last 3-4 weeks.

    Monitoring Hives

    Because it is special 😁

    Monitoring Hives

And as Beebe says, nothing wrong with a bit of curiosity, the non invasive type.

    Monitoring Hives

I believe the OP is talking about placing a passive small device, not opening up the hive (unless I understand this wrong). If so, nothing wrong with that IMO. Could help (if placed correctly) identifying broodless period/s during winter (for OA treatment) for example.

What did you do in the Apiary today?

The sun came out for an hour, so I went up to look at the hives. The mother of all orientation flights, most hives.
  18. GuyNir

    My bees think it's summer

My bees don’t. Cloudy and very little flying here.
  19. GuyNir

What did you do in the Apiary today?

The one day we were promised sunny, turned out to be another cloudy day. Very little flying. Very little flying in the last 2-3 weeks, as cloudy/windy/wet throughout. All colonies down ~1kg since mid Sep. Most got fondant today. Size wise, colonies looking good.
  20. GuyNir

    Rain today?

Quite similar to PH. Almost no sun for the last 2-3 weeks, cloudy/wet/windy throughout.
