    again I thought of that as in my other life I used to be a fringe eng we used defrost heaters I think I could adapt one of them i.e. Stat and timer ( central heating for my bees lol. ) never know it might cach on . Again thank you for your help

    the active hive is a langstroth aprox 8 frames full i have made a thin super so i would not squash the bees, the non active hive is 10 frames national that as one super on with no frames when i first viewed the non active hive aprox 2 month ago it was not as active as my hive but the ones...

    as far as i can see with my limited knowledge both hives look good for winteri am feeding both hives fondent it looks like both hives have kicked the drowns out [ i think they are drowns dead bees on the floor]

    i got the first hive from cambridge aprox 6 frames that one brings in loads of polen the other hive what i have had for 2 weeks came from salop it was kept in the countryside i bought the hive and a full coloney i live in a built up area
