I'm just leaving mine on.... just maybe 5 or 6 more time they are needed to be taken off then the seasons done and they will be extracted.

I'm no expert in my first full season but I had 1 of my hives do this in the spring. I took a couple of drawn super frames 1/2 full from another hive in the same apiary put them in the middle of the super with foundation and it helped them move up. Worked for me, worth a try.

I had the same with my 2nd batch I extracted... I think it had a mix of osr, clover and fruit tree blossoms. It set smooth and had a lovely taste. Sold some at work and had lots of buyers wanting more due to the flavour

Moving a defensive hive in the morning, so just went out to shut them in and one got me right under the armpit.... now that hurt...... I then.put my suit on and could not have done it up right in.my haste as I now have another sting on my Adam's apple....lol

The basics I've been told is let them draw a full super out then space.... I've used metal frame spacers, now have 9 frames to a super.

I had 3 Peter stofen queens posted last Tuesday, they arrived on Saturday and introduced within a couple of hours. Checked yesterday all released and laying. So were 4-5 days in transit. I did even for that 2 hours before giving i smeared water on cage.

I did look at those Ian, maybe next year when I am looking at raising my own queens. This was the first queen I have bought from abroad so was a learning curve on the process. But happy so far.

Checked the 2 nucs and 1 hive that was requeened with 3 Peter Stofen German queens.... all released, seen and laying.... great result. Can not wait to see how they perform. Has anybody used his economy queens before and how do they compare to others?
