    Perfect weather for honey production

So was wondering what the perfect weather is for honey production? Only my second year but with 6 supers on 2 hives I'm wondering if around my area I've had the perfect weather. We've had days of warm sunshine the odd day of warm heavy down pours and then back to days of warm sunshine. Anybody...

    Getting Bees into Supers

I'm no expert in my first full season but I had 1 of my hives do this in the spring. I took a couple of drawn super frames 1/2 full from another hive in the same apiary put them in the middle of the super with foundation and it helped them move up. Worked for me, worth a try.

Thanks Beefriendly... nice to hear things like that when your still learning. I keep staring at this hive as I know people go higher but 6 supers high does look impressive in the flesh. Loving this hobby.

Bought some SN4 frames last week and arrived 2 days later. Really quick and no issues Just a tip.... if you order small amounts, it is cheaper on postage to order his stuff through Amazon than his website.

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Did think that last week when I knocked it down, but today i saw the queen and she is on brood + 1/2 all cells laid up apart from 1 side of a frame. She looked in good health and plump. She was a carnolian queen bought from tiger hill bees last year so only in her second year. Well pleased with...

Last Friday my biggest and best honey producing hive this year had 1 QC.... So I knocked it down and added a 6th super of all foundation for space. I did look at those Ian, maybe next year when I am looking at raising my own queens. This was the first queen I have bought from abroad so was a learning curve on the process. But happy so far.
